Fragments of Reality at Rasmussen Art Gallery

Fragments of Reality: Exploring the Imagined and the Seen exhibited at Rasmussen Art Gallery, Angwin, CA curated by Manuel Fernando Rios, Professor of Art, Woodland Community College. The reception is Saturday, November 9th starting at 6pm.

Fragments of Reality brings together a dynamic collection of works that explore the intersection of abstraction and figuration. The featured artists, each with their unique approach, challenge conventional boundaries by blending the real and the imagined, the seen and the felt. Their works invite viewers to navigate between recognizable forms and abstract gestures, creating a visual dialogue that questions perception and reality. The fluidity between these elements allows for an exploration of the subconscious, where dreamlike scenarios coexist with tangible realities, offering a multifaceted experience of the human condition.

Through this diverse mix of styles, the exhibition underscores the versatility of painting as a medium for exploring complex ideas and emotions. The abstract elements create a sense of mystery and wonder, drawing the viewer into unfamiliar territories, while the figurative aspects ground these explorations in relatable forms. The resulting body of work serves as a testament to the enduring power of art to transcend boundaries, encouraging viewers to engage with the various ways artists interpret and reconstruct the world around us.

Participating artists:

Andres Alvares, Danielle Wogulis, John Yoyogi Fortes, Manuel Fernando Rios, Mirabel Wigon, and Rachelle Agundes.
